Kamil Iskhakov hopes, that Kazan icon of Divine Mother will return to Kazan by the 1000-anniversary

I firmly believe, that the wonder-working image of Kazan Mother of God will return to our city where it had been found by a wonderful way in 1579, the head of Kazan city administration Kamil Iskhakov stated today at a briefing for Tatarstan and Russian journalists.

The Kazan mayor spoke out the same hope today and in an air of "Echo Moskvy" .

The place of permanent stay of one of the main relics of Russian Orthodox church, by K.Ishakov's words, can become the Blagoveshchensky cathedral in territory of the Kazan Kremlin or Kresovozdvizhnesky temple once entering into architectural complex of Kazan Bogoroditzky nunnery constructed in XVI century on the place of finding the icon. Reconstruction of these objects should come to the end in July.
