1939 7 October – the research institute of the language, literature and history was established.
1940 12 March – A.M. Gorkiy museum was opened up.
1940 – the plant of the photo-gelatinous production was put into action.
1940 18 November – the Tatar department store was opened up.
1941 – the central safe vault of the USSR State Bank was transferred to Kazan.
1941 1 December – “Spartak” footwear factory finished installing production facilities from the “Trud” plant in Gumelev.
1941 25 December – people’s commissar of the aviation manufacture issued an order about assembly of Pe-2 planes at Kazan’s N 22 plants.
1941 4 August – Moscow’s weaving factory was moved in evacuation to Kazan.
1942 – rubber plant was put into action.
1942 21 March – academician O.J. Shmidt sends a memo to the party’s Tatar regional committee informing that 15 research institutes have come to Kazan as result of evacuation. The total of 5000 researh workers of the USSR Science Academy with their families came to Kazan; among which were 93 academicians.
1942 – first automatic telephone exchange came to action.
1943 – Kazan Mechanical Institute was founded.
1943 24 May – the computation of the aircraft with the jet plant carried out in Kazan by V. Glushko and S. Korolev approved a design.
1944 – suvorov Military School was established in the buildings of the former Rodion Ladies Institute.
1945 13 April – a decree was adopted by the USSR Government of establishing the USSR Science Academy’s subsidiary in Kazan.
1945 10 October – opening of the Kazan state conservatoire .
1945 1 December – Kazan state research institute of orthopaedics and rehabilitation surgery was set up.
1948 27 November – first trolley was launched.
1949 – the Large drama theatre was named after V.I. Kachalov.
1950 29 January – memorial flat of the Tatar literature classic Shariv Kamal was opened.
1952 August – “Teplokontrol” plants was put into operation.
1954 August – first segment of gas pipes was laid.
1955 – gas came to Kazan from oil field’s regions.
1956 September – new building of the Tatar state opera house was opened. |
