1901 September – Kazan observatory opened up. 
 1901 September – opening of Kazan bacteriological institute (nowadays – Kazan epidemiology and microbiology research institute).  
 1904 August – opening of Kazan musical college. 
 1906 January – first Tatar library opened up. 
 1906 25 April – Kazan brewery owner O. E. Petzold was awarded gold medal at international exhibition in Vienna.  
 1906 22 December – first public theatre performance in Tatar was given. 
 1907 13 November – first lecture in Tatar was delivered by I. V. Teregulov at Kazan New club. 
 1909 25 November – first number of “Yal Yult” satirical magazine edited by Gabdulla Tukay came out.  
 1910 25 April – a hospital was built in Kazan, sponcored by merchant Y. F. Shamov. 
 1911 28 February – construction of a railway bridge across Volga at Kazan outskirts began. In 1913 honoring the 300th Anniversary of the tsar dynasty it was named Romanovskiy. 
 1913 8 March – the maximum speed restriction of 20 versts for the street traffic in Kazan was put. 
 1913 – first theatre newspaper “Kazanskaya szena” began to come out. 
 1914 18 February – the literary evening of the poets-futurists was carried out at the hall of Nobility congress in Kazan. 
 1915 – the building of the State Bank was built (Baumana street). 
 1916 1 January – setting up of shoemaking factory “Polyar”. 
 1917 2 March – the Soviet of People’s Deputies was established. 
 1917 13 April – the first number of “Rabochiy” newspaper came out (now entitled “Respublika Tatarstan”).
