Valentina Matvienko bowed to Kazan icon Mother of God

Governor of Saint Petersburg Valentina Matvienko who arrived in Kazan and took part in opening of the Hermitage center and National art gallery yestoday is making excursion over the city. Several minutes ago she visited Krestovozdvizhnesky church of Bogoroditsky nunnery where Kazan icon of Mother of God is stored.

As prior of temple father Pitirim said Valentina Matvienko prayed to the icon, kissed it and even made a bow. As he said, the icon and decoration of the temple have made a big impression on governor of Saint Petersburg.
