Kazan city hall to appear in all its beauty before eyes of Kazaners

Рrotecting covering will be removed from the Kazan city hall closing the building for some years, and citizens of Kazan will see the renewed historical building in all its beauty.

The decision on opening city hall in the building of the Kazan House of officers was accepted by the resolution of the Cabinet in 1996 - the building was transferred to Kazan administration. Later, the decision of the head of Kazan city administration Kamil Iskhakov appeared determining functional purpose of city hall . The first city hall in Russia appeared in 1699 in Moscow. In ХVII-ХVIII centuries in various regions of Russia town halls also were constructed.

The Kazan city hall - 150 years, it has been erected under the project of professor M.Korinfsky, as well as the building of the Kazan university. The space of building - 6,6 thousand sq. m. there are halls for solemn actions of city level to be held : holidays, celebrations of honourable city people, delivery of awards to the best people of Kazan, reception of guests of honour, international conferences. There is a small museum in the building designed for placing sample of the arms of the city of Kazan, the sample of city flag and other symbols of city authority.
