M.Shaimiev and A.Kudrin discussed intermediate results of preparation for the 1000-anniversary of Kazan

Results of preparation for anniversary events in the capital were discussed today in the Kazan Kremlin by President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev and Minister of Finance of Russia Alexei Kudrin. The program of preparation for the 1000-anniversary of Kazan costing 7,7 billion roubles will have be performed completely this year - the head of the RF Ministry of Finance declared.

Opening meeting, Mintimer Shaimiev noted with satisfaction that from meeting to meeting all prior achieved arrangements on preparation for anniversary actions are being carried out. As he said, by today there are unresolved problems. 'We are working in a tense schedule, practically round the clock. At the same time, it is pleasant, that we have such front of works. I think, all will be prepared for the anniversary at a good level, - RT President emphasized. Mintimer Shaimiev thanked the head of RF Ministry of Finance for personal participation in preparation for celebrating the 1000-anniversary of Kazan.

In his turn Alexei Kudrin appreciated readiness of the basic objects of capital which he had examined before the meeting. The city has changed. Our dream - to commission Metro in Kazan - will be realized , the trains are moving already, - he said. The important achievement, in A.Kudrin's opinion, is readiness of objects of industrial, transport and social infrastructure, including, sports halls, palaces of sports, horse-racing complex, roads, habitation and others. Successful end of the conceived plans became possible due to two major federal programs "Program of social and economic development of Tatarstan for 2001-2006" and "Program of preparation for the 1000-anniversary of city of Kazan". It is clear , that there are a lot of plans for the future. At the same time, the main loading on end of works lies on the city and the republic, - Alexei Kudrin continued. He emphasized, that all earlier declared promises on financing the Program of social and economic development of Tatarstan would be fulfilled. "Last Thursday at the session of budgetary commission of the Russian Government the corresponding decision was accepted. The sum of 6,5 billion roubles is planned in the budget of the next year, - Alexei Kudrin assured RT President.
