The parties discussed future cooperation. Minister of Informatisation and Communication Farit Fazylzyanov and the general manager for switching equipment Peter Belitz discussed prospects of further cooperation between the Tatarstan telephone operators and Alcatel. Projects on telecommunication networks development were presented. The parties signed a bipartite agreement on cooperation.
Tatarstan has been cooperating with Alcatel since 1993. Representations of the world leading producer of communications equipment had supplied digital telephone stations S-12 installed in Naberezhnye Chelny and Kazan. Currently there are around 267 Alcatel digital subscriber lines, inter city switching field of the S-12 station being over 9.6 nodes.
An agreement was reached on prospective conclusion of contracts between the Ministry of Informatisation and Communication and Alcatel.
