Field session of Presidium of the Russian Academy of Science in Kazan

The field session of Presidium of the Russian academy of sciences was held in Kazan. The scientists from all Russia have gathered in assembly hall of the Kazan state university which walls are witnesses of many significant events of the country’s history.

At the session conducted by Vice-president of Russian Academy of Science Nikolay Plate took part RT President Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin, head of RT President Administration Jury Kamaltynov, RT First Deputy of Prime Minister Ravil Muratov, Chairman of Kazan science centre of Russian Academy of Science Alexander Konovalov, Rector of KSU Myakzum Salakhov and others.

The sense of today's event, I think, is quite clear - the Russian scientists wanted to emphasize their participation to those feelings and moods, which are experienced today by inhabitants of Tatarstan (including scientific community of the Republic) in connection with two significant events - anniversary of the Great Victory and the 1000-anniversary of Kazan, - noted Nikolai Plate opening the session.

It is symbolical that Kazan with its richest history and intellectual potential became the city where such a representative meeting is held, - Mintimer Shaimiev said welcoming the Russian scientists. - we perceive it as a tribute to famous scientific traditions of Tatarstan, as a recognition of its modern achievements in the field of science and education.
