30.05.05Council of Europe plans to hold inter-religious conference in Kazan | The Commissioner of the Council of Europe on human rights Alvaro Hil -Robles suggested to arrange the conference of five monotheistic religious directions - Orthodoxy, Islam, Judaism, Catholicism and Protestantism, the agency "Interfax - Volga" informs. This was said by Alvaro Hil- Robles today in Moscow during the meeting with head of Council of muftis of Russia Ravil Gainutdin.
" We would like to hold conference in Russia and to devote it to the common ideas of tolerance and dialogue between the religions ", - Alvaro .Hil-Robles explained. Choice of place for holding the forum he reasoned by positive impressions from recent visiting Kazan where, according to his observations there is a consent between adherents of different religious traditions. The idea found approval from mufti R.Gainutdin. Presumably, the conference will take place at the end of autumn. |
