RT National library - main book-depository of Tatarstan celebrated 140 years anniversary

Inter-regional scientific - practical conference "Modern tendencies of library development in context of socio-cultural changes opened May 17 in Kazan in honour of celebrating the 140-anniversary of National library of the Republic of Tatarstan.

RT Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of culture Zilya Valeyeva addressed the participants of conference, experts of library business from Saint Petersburg, Cheboksary, Ioshkar Ola, Penza, Ufa, Syktyvkar and other cities of Russia with words of welcome. First of all, she transferred Letter of thanks from RT President Mintimer Shaimiev to director of RT National library Nail Kambeev. It is said in it, in particular, that for many generations of Tatarstanians the National library was and remains a treasury of knowledge, center of preservation and propagation of invaluable cultural and scientific heritage of peoples of Tatarstan.
