The first hypermarket " Perekrestok (Crossroads)" which became the 100-th shop by number of the same trading house opened yestoday in Kazan.

A traditional red tape which this time became long brightly pink pie was cut by President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, president of group of companies " Perekrestok " Oleg Sysuyev and mayor of Kazan Kamil Iskhakov.

The general area of hypermarket placed in complex known to citizens of Kazan as Savinovo makes 6600 square meters, trading - 3600. Here it is presented more than 30 thousand denominations of the goods, 70 percent of which - products. On site bakery, meat and fish shops, salad manufacture, confectionery shop, mini-cafe are provided. This year is significant for the trading house "Perekrestok " not only opening of the 100-th shop, the company was founded in 10 years ago then the first shop of network - in Moscow appeared as well. Today "Perekrestoks " are functioning Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Samara, Tolyatti, Volgograd, Nizhni Novgorod, Lipetsk, Rostov on Don, Voronezh, Ioshkar Ola, Yaroslavl. The company is ready to the further expansion to regions of Russia and the countries CIS. By the autumn in Kazan one more hypermarket of this network, and the next year - three supermarkets in Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny should appear. The sales volume of the company in 2003 made 452 million dollars, in 2004 - 764 million dollars, predicted sales volume for present year - more than billion dollars and in 2006 - about one and half billions. Among shareholders of " Perekrestok" the companies which are included in structure of a consortium "Alpha - Group", and one of the largest world private investment funds "Templeton Emerging Markets Fund".

Today on cannot surprise us by various hypermarkets and supermarkets, several years ago we could not even think of it, and today in republic there have come all major world trading companies - with some delay but with good aggression " Prekrestok has come" -- President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev said at opening ceremony of hypermarket . And the fact that in republic more and more such shops are opened testifies to escalating consumer ability of residents of the republic. The task to raise incomes of the population - a basis of bases, the President is confident.

The president of group of companies " Perekrestok " Oleg Sysuyev counts Tatarstan a key region for the further successful promotion of supermarkets network in the European part of Russia. Opening of Kazan "Crossroads" has fallen to a crossroads of many dates - the 10-anniversary of the company, the 60-anniversary of the Great Victory, the 1000-anniversary of Kazan, Oleg Sysuyev said and emphasized, that, driving through the capital of republic, he saw such number of cranes which he had seem nowhere, - " it is very pleasant for us, that in this sea of creation our drop - shop "Perekrestok " is poured in as well. As he said, it became possible because the republic enjoys good purchasing capacity and adequate authority creating equal conditions for competition.
