Absolute Batyr of Shazam Safin`s memorial is Cuban wrestler

In the Moscow Palace of wrestling n.a. I.Jarygin yesterday the International tournament on wrestling kuresh devoted to memory of Olympic champion Shazam Safin took place. No one of the Russian wrestlers could even enter semifinal. Absolute Batyr became Cuban Revera Alfino who had overcome in persistent struggle the German wrestler Kalina Ingolf.

As against the previous memorials present one , 15-th, has gathered unprecedented number of participants, 165 sportsmen. The geography of wrestlers has considerably extended as well. Russia was presented by 16-regions, and overseas world by nine countries. Growing popularity of tournament, as well as the wrestle on belts is quite explained. It is, first of all, a merit of enthusiasts of national kind of struggle, popular among Tatars and other Turkic peoples such as R.Gainanov, H.Ayuupov, S.Hisasmutdinov, F.Mustafin and others who have managed in conditions of megacity not only to keep sports of ancestors but also to create All-Russia, then - International federation of wrestling on belts. They were headed by Rif Gaianov - in the past the world champion on Greek -Roman wrestling . Three world championships, the European championship, several All-Russia tournaments already have taken place. Now the patriots of this kind of wrestling bear plans of its inclusion in the Olympic list.
